Barcelona brings in new restrictions on cruise ship numbers
As cruise ship numbers are being limited in Barcelona, a cruise ship ban is on the horizon.
Following a cruise ship ban, Barcelona's central port will no longer accommodate cruise ships.
New rules will come into force this month, including reducing the number of cruise ships spending no more than four hours in the city by up to 20%. Barcelona mayor Ada Colau has proposed halving the number of cruise ship passengers arriving in the city, and has pledged to restrict the number of cruise ships allowed to dock in the city.
From October 22nd there will be a significant change in the cruise ship operations in Barcelona, Spain as new regulations come into effect. These regulations aim to reduce the environmental impact of cruise ships on the city, and to improve the quality of life for residents.
