Twins Take Game 1 of ALDS
The Minnesota Twins defeated the Boston Red Sox 5-4 in Game 1 of the American League Division Series (ALDS) on Tuesday night at Target Field. The Twins got a strong start from their ace, Randy Dobnak, who allowed just two runs on four hits in 5 1/3 innings. The Red Sox bullpen struggled, allowing three runs in the eighth inning to give the Twins the lead. Jorge Polanco hit a two-run homer in the eighth to give the Twins the lead for good.
Red Sox Look to Even Series in Game 2
The Red Sox will look to even the series in Game 2 on Wednesday night at Target Field. Nathan Eovaldi will start for the Red Sox, while Jake Odorizzi will start for the Twins. The Red Sox have won six of their last seven games against the Twins, including two of three in Minnesota this season.
The winner of the ALDS will advance to the American League Championship Series (ALCS) to face the Tampa Bay Rays.
